If you drove past the brewery last Friday morning (May 2nd) you might have noticed a giant sea can parked out back and a crane doing some heavy lifting—you weren’t dreaming. We got ourselves a little birthday gift (okay, three of them), and they showed up in style.
That’s right—we added three brand new fermentation tanks to the Alley Kat lineup! They arrived tucked inside a massive sea can like beer-making nesting dolls, and we had to bring in a crane (Big shout out to ABCO Cranes for the assist) to carefully lift them out and into place. It was equal parts intense and exciting—kind of like playing a giant game of Operation, but with way more stainless steel.
So why the new tanks? Simple. We want to brew more beer (and non-alcoholic beer). With the extra capacity, we can keep up with all your favourites, experiment with more Seasonals and One offs, and just keep the good stuff flowing faster and fresher than ever.
And let’s be honest—after 30 years of brewing in Edmonton, we figured we deserved a pretty sweet birthday present. These tanks might not have bows on them, but they’re definitely helping us celebrate in the best way we know how: by brewing more beer for more people to enjoy.
So next time you're sipping on a Main Squeeze, a seasonal, one-off, or something totally new, raise a glass to our new tank squad—they’re already working overtime to keep your fridge stocked.
