Straight from the farmer’s market, we cold steeped a dark roast from the brilliant Catfish Coffee Roasters to provide a beautiful complexity to this citrusy pale ale.
Traditionally coffee flavours are used in dark beers, but sometimes tradition gets ignored in the Back Alley. By using a rich dark roast, we were able to provide the flavour and aroma of coffee without overpowering the delicate citrus fruit from the hops.

We teamed up with The Common on this amber coloured raspberry sour. Since it’s not quite summer, we wanted to make a maltier sour with more body than a typical sour. We fermented it on raspberries to provide fruitiness and complexity to this collaboration brew.
Heaps of brown, crystal, and chocolate malt provide flavours and aromas of light roast, chocolate, coffee, toffee, and caramel. This porter finishes with a light drying roastiness and moderate bitterness.
We brewed this beer to commemorate the life of our beloved brewery dog and security guard, Jake. He enjoyed coming into work everyday for sixteen years to distract our staff, play fetch, and beg for scraps under the lunchroom table. Cheers Jake!

Our brown ale recipe has not changed. It is still a hearty, London-style brown ale, traditionally hopped with US Goldings hops. It serves as a refreshing all-purpose beer for those who enjoy dark ales.
