Alley Kat is the fourth oldest brewery in Alberta preceded by, Labatts, Big Rock, and Brewsters.
HISTORY
Alley Kat is the longest running microbrewery in Edmonton and believe it or not, the fourth oldest brewery in Alberta!
Alley Kat Brewing Company began its humble roots when co-owner Neil Herbst decided that it was time to try to sell his "more then just homebrew" commercially. Within a year of Alley Kat’s incorporation in 1994, the first of the Alley Kat brews – an Alley Kat Wheat and Alley Kat Amber – were introduced to the public in 650ml bottles and later in the original kool kat six packs.
Today Alley Kat Brewing Company is owned by Neil Herbst and his partner Lavonne. After nearly 15 years, Alley Kat continues to earn its reputation as one of the most successful microbreweries in Alberta. In addition to producing outstanding craft brews, Alley Kat continues to expand its product line with exciting additions like Alberta's first fruit beer made with apricot concentrate - Aprikat.
While the product’s original kool kat packaging has changed and evolved over the years, Alley Kat’s commitment to producing a superior product with the ability to satisfy its discerning customers remains the same.
